Incredibly proud to have had a Milverine sighting (with people around to explain the concept and cultural importance of Milverine to me) while I was in Milwaukee! He has my vote!

He's got it all! A commitment to physical fitness. An understanding of the needs of blue collar employees. So much chest. Retractable claws (not confirmed)!

And yet you did not include a photo???

I've never met anyone from North Dakota who couldn't do a very credible imitation of a Canada goose.

A bit late but had to come in to stan for my guy, Tim Kaine! Truly one of my favorite politicians. Love him as my Senator and formally as my Governor (especially after having been mostly represented by republicans for a long time) Not only has he been leading the fight to repeal the war powers act (under both Republican & Democratic presidents) but he plays a really mean harmonica!

I was not going to accept an actually earnest tribute to a real politician until you brought up the harmonica thing :)

Nebraska’s LIL RED has it hands down(or body down) over that Herbie Husker(who I did not know even existed.) I speak from authority as a long-time volleyball fan and former coach from the great non- MidWestern state of NY!

No disrespect to Lil' Red. He'll have his day, but because he was born in 1994 he's still under the constitutional age to be President.

[As a side note, it makes sense that as a fan of the mighty Nebraska volleyball team you'd know LIL RED and not Herbie... the former was originally developed primarily as the volleyball mascot].

Was Tom Sawyer from Missouri ? And is whitewash technically « paint « ?

Ooh, this is more questions about Tom Sawyer than I anticipated. I'll take them one by one:

1. Yes (St. Petersburg, MO, based on Twain's home town of Hannibal, MO).

2. Maybe? Maybe not? I clearly am not an expert on the paint/whitewash distinction.

There is Chicago culture and then there is "greater Chicagoland interstate culture." Two distinct beasts!

So true! Relatedly, if you have not read it, I highly recommend Sonya Huber's Love and Industry: A Midwestern Workbook: https://www.sonyahuber.com/home/loveandindustry. I am only partway through but I think it would be right up your alley.

The ticket is all wrong anyway - we need "true diversity" - with a Black Trans Woman ( not sure who?) for President - total-total lack of Privilege - contrasted at VP - with South Bend's finest - Mr. Privileged Gay Married Pete B!

The trans girl from Minnesota is pretty cute, but « Wichita Troll »? You couldn’t find a single Wichita lineman? One who’s still on the line? I am deeply disappointed in your research. If you do ever include PA, it’s gotta be Gritty.

Not sure if I understand the trans girl line. I know we're all having fun here, but if that's a joke about men with feminine hair being trans, I'm gonna delete it, because I like to keep this a welcoming space for all gender identities and that particular trope isn't helping matters. Let me know if I misread it, though.
